Yearly Water Event

Our seasonal creek is flowing. It takes a day or two to fill from one end of our property to the other. The wet edge moves at less than a foot per minute, yet once the creek fills it flows quite fast. Sorry, I don't know how to estimate GPM on a creek.

Tactile Pictures

Around here we have a liking for photos that appeal to the sense of touch,
Pictures whose primary attribute is their texture.
If we've done well, you will want to jump into them,
Feel them through the soles of your hiking boots,
Or between your bare toes.
Plunge your fingers into them,
squeeze them, and...
Oops. How did that one slip in?

KVR tunnel at Princeton, BC

I don't think I've ever walked a longer, straighter tunnel. We walked and walked and walked, and the light at the end didn't seem to get any bigger. There is an ochre deposit a few KMs past the tunnel, with one of the richer veins in view below.

Indecisive

Will somebody please tell me
which one
I should have left out?

There's a lesson in this somewhere...

...but whether it is a lesson for trees or a lesson for beavers, I cannot tell you.

Weekend Excursion

We went for a little walk in the woods. After the first few pictures, a forest isn't really all that photogenic,
except, perhaps, for the details.
Eventually we did find a pool in a creek. It had been formed by a log jam
which provided an opportunity to cross,
though it did cause a few traffic jams.
