Joe Lake: Sunrise Shoot

Joe Lake in twilight. It's best to get up at a-little-bit-not-dark if you want to photograph the sun rise at the top of the ridge.

The sun finally reaches Joe Lake, hiding in its hollow.

Joe Lake Trip: Trail Pictures

Hardly a year goes by without some sort of trip to Joe Lake. These pictures are from a backpack camping trip in July of 2020.

Harry, I presume?

Not sure what this game is called, but it looked kind of fun. It seems to involve hoping that other people lose their balance.

Last Hike to Joe Lake

A few pictures from a hike that two friends and I did in October. Joe Lake is high and far back in the mountains. Only really brave winter hikers go there once the snow starts to fall. This was, therefore, our last chance to see it this year.

As you can see there was already a little snow on the ground. The wind was also definitely chill.

Still, good to see it again!
