Day of the Juice Press
There is a local tradition that involves the collection of apples, the collection of friends, and the enthusiastic mixing of the two.
This year we had the blessing of apples straight off the tree.
And more than a few from the ground, too.
The consensus is that there were enough apples...
Even a few to spare.
The tree picked apples just got a rinse...
And the windfalls got a scrub in the tub.
The scrubbing operation needed a dedicated crew.
Into the chopper...
Whereupon things begin to get sticky.

Scavenging
One of our neighbors gave us a few small items.
We had to bring them home ourselves, though.
Small is when you can move it with the equiment that you have at hand:
Bottle jacks,
Beams,
The shiny new hotrod,
A little bit of rope,
And some firewood, to smooth things out.
