Ferry Ride

We were down to the Island this weekend. Hence, a few shots from the Horseshoe Bay - Nanaimo ferry.

Part of the loading ramp mechanism.

Those are pennies on the lowest deck of the ferry. People throw them down there, trying not to bounce them into the water. Time and salt spray turn them green.

This guy was easy to photograph. Every time he took off, he would return to his post on the same mullein plant.

Dewdney Trail

We visited a short section of the Dewdney Trail; the old stagecoach road between Princeton and Hedley.

The original contract called for a road four feet wide. I guess the guard rails were optional.

I'm surprised the trail still exists, with all the rock slides in the area

You'd hope your stage coach driver had a steady hand.
