Kitchen Counter Pour

Forms for the kitchen counter tops, ready for pour.

We embedded a few rocks in the counters. Because the counters are poured upside down, we had to cut and polish the rocks first, then glue them face down in the bottom of the forms.

The counters have a rounded nose and, in places, curved shapes. This meant time consuming compound curves. And lots of wood filler. I think next time we'll just cut to the chase and use plaster of paris.

The form for the sink. The sink profile is laminated and steam bent.

The cement colour is black. It looked like tar when we poured it. Polishing has turned it into a more reasonable grey.

My little levelling post do-hickeys. They didn't work perfectly. They tended to float up in the concrete.
