Wet Day
Our 'hire' car waits for us while we go for a walk in Birkenhead, across from Liverpool. Most days were not unpleasantly wet during our stay.

Conwy Castle
While staying near Liverpool, we visited the town of Conwy on the Northern coast of Wales. We came to see the castle. This is a view of it from the town wall on the other side of town.
We had already seen plenty of castles, but this one is more intact than usual, and we knew that we would be able to walk the walls and climb the towers.
As a bonus, we would be able to walk most of the town wall, as well as the harbor front. The whole town turned out to be very enjoyable from a photographic point of view.
Here's the reciprocal of the first picture: the wall across town from the top of the castle.
We were able to climb six of the eight towers. Some had not been completely restored.
Some other visitors take a break from stair climbing. Castles are an athletic pursuit.
The castle stands over the harbor.
From left to right: the highway bridge, a foot bridge, and the railway bridge.
Some of the large towers have a smaller, taller tower on top, set off to one side.

Liverpool
We spent a day in Liverpool
First impressions were a rather mixed matter...
Lots of litter, graffiti...
And broken buildings, generally.
But we made our way down to the waterfront, where things are better maintained.
Liverpool has a very large, interesting dock area.
A few nods to the industrial history of the place.
The architecture is a mixture of old and new.
We were there on the day of the homecoming parade for Liverpool's victorious football team. We observed the parade from a safe distance across the water.
It's a colorful place.
