Looking for a Hike

We went out for a hike in Northern Wales, but found that our destination was both rainy and had an utterly packed out parking lot.

So we wandered around looking for somewhere else to hike.

The hills in Wales get all these silvery threads all over them after a heavy rain.

We did find our hike, but it will get it's own post.

Wall Walk at Conwy

The wall around Conwy was the most walkable one that we visited. With the exception of one stretch - and the waterfront - we were able to circle the whole town.

The wall rises above most of the buildings in town.

There are nice views of everyone's roofs.

The tower in the background is at the height of the wall, opposite the castle.

The wall is a series of defensive turrets.

Things to do with old wall turrets:
 - Little courtyard

- Road

As you can see, the roads into town are nice and cozy.

They put a big arch in the wall when the train tracks were installed.

One more sea view from the wall.

Birkenhead

We walked around in Birkenhead when we visited the U-boat museum. These are a few of the miscellaneous shots from our walk.

Birkenhead is across the bay from Liverpool.

Some parts of the dock area are on the industrial side. They still manage to look relatively pleasant.

Life preservers seem to be posted near all bodies of water.

Color shock!
