Tweddle Creek Fire

Nice day for a forest fire.

Lightning from this storm made a few strikes on the mountain.
About ten minutes later: see that little puff of wrong coloured cloud?

We called the wildfire hotline, then went out for a closer look.

That just might be a bad place to fly a water bomber.

The fire, at approximately 45 minutes.

The culprit, looking cheerful and innocent. It dumped torrential quantities of water on Keremeos and Cawston, but unfortunately not on the fire.

Two days later.

About three weeks later.

Catching the sunset.

looks like a lot of smoke! A couple weeks ago we got a lot of smoke here too. Some of it might of been from the mountains, but I think quite a bit of it came from up north, by Slave Lake and that area. Neat pictures.

The odd thing with this fire is that the air isn't too bad. When the fire is far away, the smoke seems to mix into the air and we smell it all the time. With this fire, we usually have clear sky overhead.
