Night of Fire

The Snowy Mountain fire looms over Cawston, BC

There's a river and a few miles between the fire and this orchard, but those trees still look kind of scared. The fire did jump the river some time on this evening, but was brought under control

Reflected fire in the river

Burning trunks

Here the fire has reached a ridge on the side of K Mountain, but there is a strong West wind blowing back on it, slowing it down and pushing contrary to the draft of the fire. This keeps the air over the edge of the fire clear of smoke, giving us a nice view.

Flare up

An almost cozy glow
