Red Beach Collection

Photos from two places on the miles-long stretch of red beach on the South coast of the Isle of Wight. The sight, the surf and the sound are all beautiful in an epic way. Don't miss it if you are ever in the area.

Rest a Moment

Lia pauses for a breather on a stile after a steep climb up from the seashore.

When we next see our niece, she will be more than 50% older!
It's best to record things while you can.

Whale Chine

My first morning walk in England

A chine is a creek, and by inference, the canyon that it forms. The cliff along the South coast is quite high - up to 200 feet in places. Chines are often your only chance for beach access. Where Whale Chine cuts into the cliff, it is largely soft clay and soil. Whale Chine is steep, rugged and unstable. It has been a little hard on the access staircase, which remains only as fragments. Fascinating fragments...

The South tip of the Isle of Wight. Yesterday we were out at that point and photographed some surfers. The pics will show up here eventually.

Portsmouth Harbour

We had some time to shoot photos in Portsmouth while we waited for the ferry to the Isle of Wight.

The Journey Begins

My sister and I are in the United Kingdom for a few months.

Bristle Frost

I think those strings are spider's web, but I'm not sure.

This is almost like Thorn Frost, from a few years ago.
