Folkestone Pier and Station

A view up the coast towards Dover

The train used to come right out onto the pier for the trans-shipment of passengers.

The train station is between the pier and the shore.

Breakwater for the harbor

The old rail causeway is now a flower garden.

This restaurant at the foot of the causeway has a roof-load of huge clam shells. The implication is that you can eat clams there, but we didn't see any customers throwing shells on the roof. Perhaps the wind blew them there from the harbor.
