Canal Tour

A few shots from various walks along the canals

Some of the boats are nicely maintained...

Some are dilapidated...

Some are a little beyond dilapidated...

But they're all charming and colorfully painted.

I guess that this factory building would not have been a nice place to work in its day, but it looks good on the water now.

Home away from home

Wish I could have photographed the creaking noise that this rope made as the boat shifted back and forth.

Doors on a lock the moment before they shut.

Oooh, that rope creaking noise, what a very cool sound.
And ... I did not realize there canals in Oxford. Really lovely! Interesting to see the various boats with their colours and styles. :)

When we drove through a bit of London, I wanted to walk by the Thames; we didn't have time, but we did cross over it at a bridge. "That'll just have to do," I told myself. Then we got to Oxford....
