Badbury Rings

The three concentric defensive walls of Badbury Rings. It is a bronze age hill fort in Southern England.

A path goes through a gap in the inner wall.

The ditch between the inner wall and the middle wall is quite deep. Considering the size of it and the diameter of the whole fortress, an incredible amount of earth was moved, probably by hand.

There is a wide, shallow dip just inside the inner ring. It looks like a good place for chariot races.

The space in the center is a gentle dome with a grove of trees growing on it.

A road cuts through the three rings, goes through the middle of the hill and cuts through the rings on the other side.

You can see the country all around from the top of the inner wall
