Abandoned Boats

Before we left Canada, I did some preliminary exploration of the Isle of Wight with Google Maps. I spotted a couple of beached derelicts in the Medina River. We decided to have a look.

First derelict, the smaller one, is aground on the mud flats at low tide. It almost looks intact...

But that trickle of water makes a person wonder. As well, all the junk on the deck.

The second one was much more shipwreck-y

Unfortunately, the approach to the wreck was too muddy for my shoes. But I came halfway around the world to see this thing, so I pulled off my shoes and socks to make an attempt on some closer shots.

The mud got deep. I gave up.

There was a nice little tidal pool provided just for washing muddy feet.
